Mastermap ITN 

OS MasterMap Integrated Transport Network(ITN) Layer maps Great Britain's road network - from motorways to pedestrian streets.

Ideal for route planning or to manage your resources, it consists of three seperate elements which can be purchased individually or as a collection:-

  • Road Network(road geometry)
  • Road Routing Information(routing information for drivers on mandatory and banned turns, one way streets and other restrictions) These features can be directly read by software such as Accession.
  • Urban Paths(man-made path geometry in urban areas).

The Urban Paths theme is separate to the main ITN dataset, if you're only looking to route car's then this dataset is not required, however if you're looking at pedestrian walking routes then this is essential.

Technical details

Format: GML 2.1.2 (shipped in compressed .gz format).

Type of roads: Motorway, A road, B road, minor road, local street, alleyway, private roads - publicly accessible, private road - restricted access, pedestrianised streets.

Road Routing Information: Access restrictions; Bridge Over Road; Firing Range; Ford; Gate; Level Crossing; Mandatory and Banned Turns; One Way; Physical Weight and Width Restrictions; Rising Bollards; Severe Turn; Steep and Very Steep Gradients; Through Route; Toll Indicator and Traffic Calming.

Urban Paths:  Man-made paths in urban areas of Great Britain larger than 5 Km2.

Update frequency: Six weekly (full re-supply, change-only updates or managed GB set). Urban Paths Theme is updated quarterly.
